NDIS Services
Awana Disability Services are dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of disability support and assistance under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Community Nursing Care
Feeling better is important for everyone. You deserve quality care, which we know is not always easy to get on your own. We're here to help. Making sure you get the help you need when it’s needed makes a huge difference. Mopane community nurses will come to your house, meaning you don’t have to worry about commuting especially those times you feel unwell.
Assist Transport/Travel
Do you find it difficult to use public transport? Do you need extra help and assistance when trying to get from A-B? You are not alone. This is a common concern for people with psychosocial disability avoiding taking public transport out of fear that they would be judged or discriminated against by other passengers.
Public transport can be challenging, and we want to help with overcoming that barrier. With our support staff you’ll have the opportunity to increase your confidence and independence in this area of life. We also have cars that we use to help you get around if you prefer.
Daily Personal Activities
We hear feedback from those with disabilities about how difficult it can be to find engaging, enjoyable activities. You’ve got what it takes to get that grin of satisfaction every day.
We strive to reverse negative thoughts about disability through providing opportunities for meaningful social interaction in your community and personal growth. Our Mopane support staff guides you through activities and skills that will empower you to live a life that is more fulfilling.
Daily Living & Life Skills
We've all been in those situations where we need a little help to do something but are unsure who to ask or going for it alone seems daunting. We get you. We can provide support at a level that meets your needs. From a little bit of extra help, like cooking dinner for the week, to full-time daily living skills such as cleaning, budgeting and managing money, social skills like making friends or handling conflict resolution; it is all personalised dependent on what you need. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed by all the things life throws at you. You can make your own choices and be more empowered with the right supports.
Participation in Community, Social & Civic Activities
Do you feel like it is difficult to find a community or group activity that feels right for you? It might seem like you are the only one in your community who has a psychosocial disability. You may feel alone, and it can be hard to find people or groups that you connect with. Community involvement can be a great way of meeting others who have similar interests, learning new skills, as well as giving yourself the chance to do what you enjoy. The good news is, there are many ways to get involved in activities that feel right to you! It's important not only to stay connected with people who understand your experience but also those who don't. We need both friends and allies.
